Loved this book. A story that's been told many times--futuristic space travelers stumble across a hidden planet with a thriving ancient society, and all hell breaks loose. But Westbrooke turns this tale on it's head in an age of "too much information and very little wisdom" and artfully explores the wisdom of nature and the old ways, the delights and perils of technology, the hard-fought lessons of history, spirituality vs religion and of course the roles of women and men in all this. I especially enjoyed the tapestry of details, description and emotions she wove through the Ma'ahai people's story, including their unique language - which added a richness to the characters and story without becoming cumbersome to the reader. In the end Westbrooke chose hope, nature and interconnectedness and that's just fine with me. I highly recommend this book!Product details

Delightful Fantasy, good cast of characters. The author did a great job making you believe the place and characters were real. Can't wait for the sequel.
