The small town of Gemini, Georgia, is all abuzz about hometown boy Creighton Wellington's nuptials to a highly pretentious "Pamela not Pam" of a well-to-do Birmingham family. Buzz central is The High Point of Beauty Hair Salon owned by Dixie Harper who happens to be the mother of Creighton's ex sweetheart, Brandy. In order to forget Creighton, Brandy attended NYU, moved to Alaska, and then to Key West. Back in Gemini, Brandy's cousin, Franjelico Reeves, and jet-setter Fi Lipscomb are also faced with their own star-crossed love affairs.
As fate would have it, Brandy returns home to renovate her mother's 1950s-era kitchen the same week of her ex-boyfriend Creighton's engagement party at his family's estate, Allegra. The engagement party of the year is suddenly changed to the wedding of the year. The whole town is ensnared in the twists and tangles of old flames, late-night happenings at Fran's Booze and Bands bar, and salon gossip.

Very engaging book with a southern spin.
Loved the book!
I love to read books about the south. This book did not disappoint. Easy and light read, but worth the time.
Excellent read, especially for those of us fortunate enough to have been born in the south. Just a good ole down home feel good book. Great beach read! Highly recommend!!!
Ok, the characters in this book were very well described and a reader should be able to relate to them all very well. I loved the twisting, turning of the players in the book. I continued to read to reach the end results. Lucky was a hoot and one could actually see his sexual preference by his actions and statements. Pamela, not Pam, was a demanding woman and high maintenance. She was not "in love" for the right reason. But the wedding was....well read the book and find out. You will not be disappointed.

After reading the first two chapters and the beginning of the third, I had to buy the eBook to continue the story. I was not disappointed and enjoyed every minute of the book. Very entertaining and being from the South I can visualize some of the story and sayings. I can't wait for the next book, a continuation of this story would be great. You get involved with all the characters and wonder what will happen next.
This is not only a fun, but clever read. I love the creative and intelligent way Ms. Dutton uses language. I found myself wanting to remember some of these quotes for future use! Living in a Southern town off the beaten path, I related to all these characters. Many people assume that being from the South means one lacks a certain amount of gray matter. Thank you Ms. Dutton for enlightening your readers!
